MAURITIA. Living without You.

MAURITIA, Hull band on the rise, have released yet another catchy indie tune. With a busy year, playing on the first Made In Hull Sesh Cruise, supporting King No-One on multiple tour dates and headlining gigs at The Polar Bear, the support for the band is continuously growing. Following on from singles like Tropical and Skin, it is unsurprising that Living without You is set to be another well-received success for the five-piece.

Living without you is a feel-good, summery track, despite featuring the ever-growing theme in pop music of the confusing millennial relationship struggle. Again, this song is catchy, and it’s something you could easily dance and sing along to. The whirring synths and varied percussion turn this song from another indie pop track into something much more interesting. It’s not un-repetitive, but that’s not a bad thing here. People want to be able to sing along to a chorus and the clean production means the familiar vocals sit well in the mix and every other aspect of the song is audible, highlighting the musicianship of each band member. Along with Tropical and Skin, the band let you feel the energy and excitement through the rhythms that really drive this song forward and, if you've ever seen them live, you know their performance doesn't let this feeling down.

MAURITIA are definitely a band to look out for, and if you’re into your indie pop and want another song stuck in your head, check out Living without you and their other singles on Spotify and YouTube. They're getting better time after time and, having seen the band live a couple of times, supporting King No-One, I can say with certainty that their music takes the foreground in the making of a good night out.
